Thoughts of a Heartie

I'm thinking the photo credit for this pic goes to Crown Media. (Just wasn't positive.)

It's coming. It's coming fast. You check your calendar everyday, mentally noting that it's one day closer to the big event. You go about your day, checking your social media handles. Everyone is talking about it, posting pictures, talking with anticipation about what they hope to see. Again you remember just how many days until it happens, or maybe hours too if that's what you like to do.

"It's so close!" You squeal inside, filling yourself with even more caffeine. You envision how the night (or morning) will go. If you have planned a gathering, you're mentally noting where everyone will sit, what creative snacks you'll serve, or decorations you'll hang. You may see everyone wearing their special t-shirts, cheering the occasion on.

Should you be alone, maybe you see yourself in your favorite comfy spot, hot beverage in hand, snuggled under a fuzzy blanket. Maybe your furry friend is lying under your feet, or right in your lap.

Your heart is pounding, adrenaline rising. Your phone is placed firmly in your hand, ready to Tweet at lightning speed. You sit and wait for the previous movie to end, your anticipation mounting as you realize it's nearly over since the couple finally kissed. (You know what I'm talking about.)

The commercial for what you're about to watch comes on, and you either watch it excitedly, or hurriedly mute it and look away at the terrified scream of SPOILERS from your friends and family.

Or should you be watching the next day through Amazon, your heart leaps in excitement at the sight of the new title with the little play button next to it. You quickly move to click the little play button, before your friends kill you, or you die from anxiety.

Finally it ends. The wait. The commercial. All of it.

The room drops to dead silence, except for the giggly squeals of excitement from you or your family. The TV lights up, and you know its begun. Your emotions dip up and down in pure joy, yet nervousness of what will happen. Will it live up to my expectations? Will all my questions be answered? Will Elizabeth just pick the guy I want already!?!!!

And so it begins. Another season of When Calls the Heart.

You then come out of this daze and realize that you've been on Twitter for 2 hours, having got nothing done. You shake your head as you go to refill your coffee, your eyes again catch the calendar. You sigh as reality hits you. "There's still 18 days to go." Again you sigh, but then a pleasant thought strikes you. "It beats 8 months!"

Thank you for indulging my silliness.😜 But it is true though...ONLY 18 DAYS TO GO HEARTIES!!! (So close, yet so far...)
