WCTH Episode Review: New Possibilities
Hey, Hearties! Welcome to the review before my last for WCTH Season 7! Wow. Can you believe we're here already? There is only one more episode. One more! How on earth is this going to end? (Is it going to?!!)
I'm sure Team Nathan is jumping up and down after watching this episode, on which I congratulate you. It's great that some Hearties are pleased with the outcome, but I have to admit to feeling disappointed. Never fear as I will not bog this entire review down with my woahs. (That would just be sad for all involved.) But I also will be sharing what did and didn't work for me.
A few notes:
Where. Is. Pastor. Zeke?!! (He must have been so happy to finally settle down that he went right into Hope Valley hibernation! Lol!)
Again, Little Jack is precious!
Again, Little Jack is precious!
Lee's Deep Secrets
Wow! I mean...just....wow. Okay, let me just clarify the fact that although Lee has been here since Season 2 we never really knew who he was. Like we knew his good heart, and hard working attitude, but his past, and who he really is? No. Not until now.
So, first off...wow. Lee sure recovered fast. And it would appear that the cliffhanger was just to get us all worried for nothing, but where's the fun of having no drama? I mean, this is WCTH after all! Lol!
Secondly...Wow. Yes, I know I keep saying that but we got a lot of emotion and drama dumped on us at once! Who knew what a tragic, and pain filled life Lee had lived through! I knew about his brother dying which was very sad, and traumatic, but now we know that his mother died soon after that. This all filled a young Lee with so much hurt and anger, that he finally left. And in doing so he hurt his sister Susannah and he missed his father's funeral. I think I was most emotional after he said that. What a terrible feeling it must be to know you've missed your own father's funeral! Oh, Lee! You sweet and wonderful man! You've been through so much!
But backing up to the main storyline for this episode, we now know that Lee still has a sister! What a shock for poor Rosemary! She thought she knew her husband so well, and she does, but now she finds out that he's been keeping the fact that he has a sister a secret from her! Ouch... But we then find out that Lee and Susannah have been estranged for 20 years!
Well, bumping his head and nearly dying has made Lee realize what's most important in life, and he wants to find his sister and make things right. And thankfully for him he's got so many friends that want to help. I wondered if Lee would want everyone to know about his sister, but apparently he's okay with it or why else would Rosemary tell the people she did?
I also will NOT over look Lee playing ball with Little Jack! Very sweet! (Although he stole that scene from Lucas...Lol!)
Anyhow, thanks to Fiona they finally found the number, and Lee makes the call. Sure enough it's Susannah, and....she hung up. (How dare she do that to our Lee!) Lee was crushed. He realized just how bad things are between them. I'm sure he was hoping that she would want to reconnect just as much as he wanted to, and that she'd be glad to hear from him. Yet it wasn't so.
We then proceed to watch him very pitifully kick a ball around. He's so sad, and probably guilt ridden. After all he was the one who left, and so no doubtedly this is very much on his shoulders. (Sorry, Lee! Just being honest.)
But Lee will not back down! This is too important to him! And so after a very pitiful sniff, showing that Lee might have been crying, he asks Florence to dial Susannah's number. This time is definitely more successful, but not as much as Lee would have hoped I'm sure. Susannah has at least agreed to think about seeing Lee, which is a good start. Where will this go? I'm predicting a reunion of brother and sister in this last episode, but I don't know for sure. Hopefully that's what we'll get. (And please, please give us a pregnancy announcement!!! Please.....) But this was a very emotional episode for both of the Coulters to be sure! Finally I know about Lee's past! I'd thought about the fact before, but I had no idea that we'd finally find it out, and learn about his family. This finale sure has quite a few things to clear up, doesn't it?

Gowen Reveals All (Or Does He...)
Gowen....What did you do? That fire, and those books were way too close to each other. Surely you didn't...
Well, first off let me say thank goodness he finally saw reason! Was it worth it to get in a big legal tangle, and possibly go to jail, and then have Lucas get the books anyway? And secondly AWWwwww! Oh, Gowen! Why must you pull at our heartstrings so? The whole reason he didn't want to give the books over is because he FINALLY was respected by Hope Valley! He brought in jobs, and his whole risk paid off. He went from being Henry the jailbird who had stolen from everyone to Henry the rich oil man. Plus it was the first venture he had ever been proud of!
Now if he confesses to Lucas just how bad things are, he'll lose that respect. He'll have to admit just how bad he screwed up, and that he failed. Dang it Gowen! You already had me rooting for you, and now you got to go deeper in and man, this guy has a LOT of problems!
But good thing for him he's always got friends who are willing to pull him out. I got to applaud Lucas for his actions. He so could have let Henry have it, and filed those papers but he didn't. He gave him more time because people (Namely Elizabeth) had faith in him to do the right thing. Thank you Lucas for being an upright guy!
And then of course we can't forget Elizabeth's part in all of this. She didn't get all mad at Lucas like I said she could have, but she actually helped fix this whole thing. (At least it looks like she did from their perspective. Depends on Gowen now...) Henry must really, really trust her to have opened up like he did. I mean, shesh! He really spilled his guts. I don't know if he would have done that for anyone else. He told her everything and that could be a huge problem!
Should those books be the correct ones, then there is nothing to worry about. BUT should they not be, and Henry made things look better then what they are, fools Lucas into believing their correct, and Elizabeth sees all this and knows the truth...things could go bad fast! She promised Henry that she wouldn't tell anyone what he told her, but if he really burned the books and is now lying to Lucas, what on earth is Elizabeth supposed to do? Tell Lucas and break her promise, henceforth Henry's trust in her? Or watch Lucas get potentially sucked down with Henry all the while throwing his money away on a sinking ship? And what happens if things go bad and Lucas finds out that Elizabeth knew? He's not going to be happy, and may not trust Elizabeth like he did before.
Oh, the drama! And we only have ONE MORE EPISODE to find out! Oh, Henry probably didn't lie. Right? It's all going to be okay....Right?
Fiona
Oh, Fiona! You poor soul! (That was my response several times this episode! Lol!) You've finally returned, and no sooner are you seated back at your post then are you getting a mysterious phone call, from a guy that sounds like he's less then nice.
Now I can list two ideas that I got brewing...
1. It's nothing more then her boss is really strict, and has her move from place to place for whatever job he needs her for. (Boring!)
2. Her boss is a bad man in some way or another. Remember Clara's boss from Season 2 or Thomas Higgins from Season 4? Well, I'm wondering if this guy is going to get lumped in that group soon.
Problem is that we just have so little info. Fiona is clearly trying to down play this whole situation, whether that's to conceal her sad feelings about leaving or the whole thing itself. It would be easier to say she just has to move for her job if she hadn't left so mysteriously and giving us an actual answer as to why she did. I'm not sure what's going on just yet but something feels wrong for sure.
And just look at what this whole thing did to poor Florence! She was sobbing harder then anybody was when Lee was lying unconscious in the infirmary! She really has become good friends with Fiona and now the thought of her leave has the poor widow in tears! Don't leave me hanging writers!
Nathan
Thank you Nathan! Thank. You. You finally came to your senses and apologized for your reckless behavior! We and Elizabeth needed that! But it didn't happen without a lot of struggle! Let's go to the beginning shall we?
Alright then, we start with Elizabeth going to see Nathan. Yep! That's right! She is not going to put up with his behavior. She totally had the right to stay away and give him the silent treatment right back, but she didn't. She wants answers and she wants them now. Unfortunately for her that seems to be the last thing Nathan wants to do. Oh, my goodness it was like pulling teeth with him, and not little baby teeth that are already falling out. I'm talking wisdom teeth!
He wanted to run! He could not bring himself to talk about what had happened, or why it had, never the less apologize for what he had done! And I might know why. He very well may have been embarrassed. He just could not bring himself to admit to Elizabeth that the reason he was so dang frustrated was because he knew Elizabeth had gone out with Lucas. And he was jealous. I mean he was scared of Elizabeth getting hurt or worse to be sure, but there was more to the fight then that. (Which actually makes him yelling at Elizabeth worse, but anyway...)
Anyhow Elizabeth really gave him a shot to the heart. (And let the singing ensue. Lol!) Yes, she really gave it to him in two sentences.
"Do you want to know how I ended up in Union City with Lucas? Because he ASKED." Wham! Nathan is toast! Throughout the time Elizabeth has known Nathan she has given him time after time to say what's on his mind or how he feels and every single time he refuses sometimes actually says something that makes things worse and may make it look like Elizabeth doesn't mean anything to him.
But Elizabeth isn't taking anymore of that. Some people may say she was being pushy but believe me. She needed to be.
Stepping out of the triangle for a moment I have to mention the fact of Nathan going undercover and catching Elias. Good job Nathan, but I'm thinking that this isn't over yet. (Please don't tell me anything about the finale in the comments as I want to be surprised.)
I also have to bring up Nathan and Fiona meeting in the train station as some people do want to see them together. I actually think this may be the first time they have ever talked face to face. Now I don't make too much of this scene. I mean, yes it did give us a chance to see what they would look like together, and should Elizabeth somehow not pick Nathan the writers could use it later on as a chance to set him and Fiona up, but for now I'm doubting whether or not it has any meaning.
We then have Bill's talk he gave to Nathan. Lol! Nathan, you're a good man and a smart one when it comes to being a Mountie, but when it comes to the romance department...you could use a bit of help. Bill informs him that Elizabeth is tougher then she looks (Which is true) and that she's been through a lot which makes her look before she leaps. Hmmm... Are we still talking about the storm? Lol! I have to give it to Nathan. He may have a temper at times, he can be moody, and he's clueless when it comes to women, but it kind of makes him more lovable. (Gasp! Did I just say that out loud?)
Anyhow getting back to the Elizabeth and Nathan saga we have the big moment. Someone comes knocking on Elizabeth's door one night. Who does it turn out to be but Nathan himself. He appears quite troubled. Elizabeth then invites him in. (Dang! I wanted her to invite Lucas in! Now Nathan was first!) And then we got it! Oh, my goodness the man finally FINALLY said it! He managed to pull those few little words out of the back of his throat and (Sigh) he finally said it. First he apologizes for his outburst telling Elizabeth that he was out of line. (Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!) And then he compliments her on her courage in saving Emily. (Nice.) He then proceeds to finally tell Elizabeth that...
"I just want you to be safe... because...because you matter to me." Aww! (No! Stop that! Team Lucas will call you a trader!)
Nathan then immediately exits, leaving behind a speechless Elizabeth. (What is it about this guy that limits peoples' speech? Lol!)
Alright. I'm going to be honest here. People may hate me for this, but I maybe...maybe...can see Elizabeth and Nathan as a couple. There I said it! (I would like my execution to please be quick and silent...) The truth is that Nathan isn't a terrible guy, and he does work with Elizabeth. I may have felt some chemistry with them, and it certainly wouldn't be the worst pairing in the world should Elizabeth pick him.
Now let me reassure Team Lucas that after watching this episode I was disappointed. I have lost some hope for Lucas and flopped on my bed in despair as I realized that Nathan really appears to be "the one." The thing is that so much of my bias is the fact that actor wise I like watching Chris McNally more then Kevin McGarry, and so this plays a huge part in my "Team Lucasness." (Please forgive me Kevin. Your a fun guy too and definitely rank higher in my favorite actor list!) Plus I can really really see Elizabeth and Lucas being a couple and all the sweet and romantic moments they could have! They would totally work as a couple and have a different kind of chemistry then anyone else does. And so do not think that I am not disappointed. Because I am! I could go on a whole tirade about how could the writers do this to me, and give me all these romantic moments with Elizabeth and Lucas only to have them mean NOTHING in the end and suck me in only to crush me!!! (Breathe...breathe...)
I guess the thing is that throughout Season 6-7 I haven't gotten enough romantic moments between Nathan and Elizabeth. With Jack and Elizabeth they had SO much tension, yet they would have these little banter filled moments or Elizabeth would fall over something and Jack would catch her. You know. Just these little romantic moments. It didn't have to be Nathan saving Elizabeth from a tornado or something. Just a few little moments that would show the sparks and romance. Then again Team Nathan may totally disagree with me, which is fine.
Well, at least the man opened his mouth and let Elizabeth FINALLY know where he stands.
Lucas
OOOooohhh! Lucas! No! You did a big no no! Yet, it was done with all of the best intentions.
Alright, before I run through the scenes I just have to say that this was NOT my favorite episode for Elizabeth and Lucas. In fact it may have been my least favorite and it's not just because of all the Nathan scenes.I don't think this episode focused as much on Elizabeth and Lucas being a potential couple as the scenes felt different. I also was not a fan of this scene I'm about to talk about. I didn't care for how it was done. Just my own opinion. :)
So, first we have Lucas running up to Elizabeth so excitedly sharing the comments his mother had made about Elizabeth's first three chapters. He really was so darn excited about it. So much so that he hadn't thought about exactly what he had done and the effect it would have on Elizabeth. (But let me just say that it's cute that Lucas wanted to share the chapters with his mama like that. She really needs to come to Hope Valley!)
Now, for this argument I am of course on Elizabeth's side. Before starting this blog, I was working on a novel of my own. (I still work on it from time to time.) A person's writing is a very personal thing that shouldn't be shared without permission. This especially goes in Elizabeth's case as her writing is really just herself on the page and her story. It was a very special privilege that Lucas got to read it, and completely not his decision who else gets to read it. (His mama being an editor or not.) This whole thing makes Elizabeth question whether or not Lucas can be trusted, and with good reason. He crossed a line.
But, in usual Lucas fashion, he realized his mistake and fully apologized. It's funny actually. Every time he does something that upsets Elizabeth he comes back and fervently tries to fix it. He's like, "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done it, and please please just don't be mad at me!" Lol! He cannot bare to have that woman miffed at him, and it's cute! :D Again he was just so excited that Elizabeth's dream could finally come true, that he wasn't thinking about anything else. You sweet, misdirected soul. He tries so hard and pours so much of himself into making Elizabeth happy. This time he tried just a bit too hard...
But in the end it worked out alright as Elizabeth has decided to face her fears (I wonder who gave her that idea...Lol!) and has agreed to have Lucas' mother send her chapters to a publisher! Again Lucas' face just lit up! I don't know if I've ever seen him quite like that before! I have a better feeling this time about Elizabeth's writing. This may finally be it!
As for where Elizabeth and Lucas stand? Yeeaahh....I'm not feeling so good about that. We did get some tension which is good, but it didn't go exactly as I would have wanted and was resolved rather quickly. The whole disagreement didn't make things feel like they are pointing at a Lucas/Elizabeth ending, which is very sad for Team Lucas. I mean, things are still undecided, but after what I saw with her and Nathan...(Blows bugle to the tune of Taps.)

The thing that would save everything is one of two things....
1. We get a crazy plot twist and Elizabeth ends up picking Lucas somehow. (Come on, WCTH writers....)
Or 2. We get a reverse cliffhanger. This time Elizabeth seems to have gone with Nathan somehow, and Lucas gives the glance. (This doesn't ensure a Team Lucas ending but it could help.)
The first would be the less stressful approach, as this triangle is driving people CRAZY. But if we got a cliffhanger that ended up making Lucas Elizabeth's choice and the writers made the wait worth it I would be more okay with it. (I would be way more accepting of it if next season was in just a few months. Should there be another season of course.) As always I'm left to wait and wonder. (And stress!!!)
Jesse
Awww! Jesse! That was so sweet! He thinks of Lee as his brother! Man, this episode was such an emotional one! In fact this whole season people have just been telling each other just how much they matter and showing us how close they all are! They're not just friends and neighbors. They're family. If one gets hurt, everyone feels it.
Jesse just could not live with the fact that Lee coming after him in the wind storm had caused his injury and nearly killed him. But thank goodness Lee straightened him out! Lee said exactly what needed to be said! Lee was the one who had sent Jesse in the first place, and there was no way he could have foreseen everything that would happen. It was an accident and it was not Jesse's fault.
And so Lee, being Jesse's big brother, has asked him to just, "Let it go." And it looks like Jesse will. But he so needed to hear this, especially from Lee himself.
What are they saying, Elizabeth?!!! (They say, "Pick Lucas...." Lol!) This is an interesting statement. What does it mean? I think it basically means that Elizabeth is following her heart. Where it will lead? I have a feeling about that, but I'll just have to wait and see. We also got some foreshadowing with Elizabeth and Opal's conversation, but that may have just been for Elizabeth's book. Once again we will see. But I do have to say that Elizabeth is officially leading those guys on now. I had reasons to give before for why she may not have been but now...yeah things aren't too good right now. She was basically telling Nathan to ask her out, meanwhile she had that whole outing with Lucas not very long ago. Both guys may now think that they have a chance with her, and it's no one else's fault but hers. She needs to be very honest with these guys and tell them where she stands, or else someone or all three people involved in this triangle are going to end up hurt. And now we're at the finale so this could mean big things for this whole situation.
Oh yes, Hearties. Mystery is in Hope Valley, along with a safe-cracking criminal. I'm sure we're all wondering who that woman is. She seemed quite interested in something Lucas and Bill were talking about. The big question is...does she have anything to do with someone in town or is she with the crook in jail? Is she an acquaintance, or a relative of Gowen, Bill, or Lucas? Or is she a criminal right along with Mr. Smiley in jail? He was much too happy to be there, unless....maybe he's got a way out. I mean, for goodness sake, he's in there for unlocking safes. I think he could maybe manage to unlock a cell door when no one is looking. And should he have an innocent looking accomplice... (Dum, dum, DUUuuummm!)
This episode had emotions going all over the place. Between Lee, Jesse, Fiona, Gowen, and everything going on with this triangle...Writers, you have quite the story to clean up for this finale... And from what I've heard this could be something alright.

So for the past few episodes I have already guessed that Team Nathan was the path the show would take - and after this episode I think that got confirmed even though I am wholeheartedly Team Lucas and I'm already sad to know it probably won't happen. However, I would be okay with Elizabeth and Nathan together if we got some build-up to it like you said, little romantic moments (not just misunderstandings and sad wistful looks from afar). The ending scene was a step in that direction, but with only one episode left, it's hard to see why she should choose Nathan when Lucas has been the one actively courting her all season.
ReplyDeleteI know people will say "the heart wants what the heart wants, and she wants Nathan!" but I can't ignore all the things Lucas has done to show her how much he cares during the last two seasons. I've also seen people comment that Lucas represents her old life, and him using his money to shower her with gifts and attention - but I don't think that's really true. His conversation with her in Union City about seeing Hope Valley as a good place to settle down and start a family shows that he's not really all about material possessions, and while he likes to give her gifts and take her on a nice date, it doesn't mean they didn't come from the heart. He has gone out of his way several times to do sweet things for her and show her that they not only have common interests, but that he is also willing to be involved in things that she is interested in as well. His actions this episode were misguided when he sent off the chapters to his mother, but that's one small blip in an otherwise smooth courtship so far - and I think it was actually good for them to have this tension because it shows that while he is not perfect, he immediately realized he was in the wrong and came back to apologize.
Which brings me back to Nathan - while I'm glad he and Elizabeth finally had the conversation that was necessary for them to move forward, it also makes me ask why it took him so long to get there. Why was he holding back for so long when Elizabeth gave him so many opportunities to explain to her how he's feeling? Maybe he wanted to do things on his own time and he was still hurt that she went to Union City with Lucas - but he's also an adult and the delay in apologizing to her about Emily and the storm makes me question his maturity and readiness for a relationship with her. He's been acting more like a teenager who didn't get his way at first and just wants to mope in silence. It's a really odd way to act after she essentially told him to just ask her out, and it wasn't until after he had the conversation with Bill that he finally got up the courage to tell her anything - and still didn't ask her out!
I don't want to spoil anything in case someone hasn't seen the previews or sneak peek clips, but I have a feeling she'll make her choice towards Nathan more clear in the finale, but the triangle still won't be completely resolved until next season or possibly the Christmas special, if there is one this year. I just hope whoever she doesn't pick still gets to stay on the show because I like both actors (and I LOVE seeing Chris McNally - since I think she won't pick him I'm worried he'll leave, but maybe Fiona will stay in hope valley and then they could end up together? Anything to keep him on the show!).
Well, you already know how I feel about it, lol. I think my biggest disappointment was the lack of chemistry I saw with Lucas and E in their scenes together. I actually felt confused after their first scene about her book. He sounded a bit arrogant, and I didn't like that side of him. I sure hope that was a one time thing and the writers aren't putting a change of character in there. Perhaps they have been reading too many comments on the FB page where people say he has something to hide...
ReplyDeleteNathan. I have never disliked him. In fact, I like him a lot. My three problems with him and Elizabeth are that 1) they seem to be reincarnating Jack with several of the scenes I have seen, and I don't like that. Make Nathan his own man, not Jack part deux. 2) I really don't feel the chemistry between the two of them. I want to, I just don't. And I think it is because we haven't seen enough cute romantic scenes between them. And 3) it's so predictable. She was with a Mountie in the book. The Mountie dies on the show. Let's put her with another Mountie and continue the story line. yawn..I hope they can change my mind.
I have my suspicions as to what might happen this week, but I will wait until your post next week before posting them. Right now I see exactly what I suspected will happen, Elizabeth with the Mountie in the end. And that probably won't be until next season.
Great blog, as usual! Thank you for what you do!!
First off, your use of humor throughout this post is spot on! I’m not sure I’d be able to see things as graciously as you do if the roles were reversed and Nathan looked to be on the losing side. Kudos to you on that!
ReplyDeleteYes, I’d have to say Team Nathan was jumping up and down (or in my case was a sappy puddle on the floor when he said “you matter to me”), but we’re still nervous that the writers could pull a switcheroo on us and put her with Lucas. I’m trying to mentally prepare myself just in case that happens. Personally, I just want this thing resolved. Please, writers, give us resolution to this triangle!
Lee’s storyline was excellent. I loved it! Suddenly there’s so much more depth to his character. His life seemed charmed, but now we see that’s not truly the case. He’s experienced deep hurt, and I’m so glad they’re fleshing out his character. Kavan Smith is excellent at humor, but wow was he spectacular with his emotion in this one! That was incredible. I was tearing up all over the place when he was on screen.
As far as Gowen goes, I don’t think he burned anything. I believe he gave Lucas the books, and as he said there were 19 more in his office. Goodness, I was tearing up during the scene with Gowen and Elizabeth too! So much emotion! And the look on his face after Lucas said something about him seeing reason, and Henry saying “Is that what I’ve done?” was telling. He looked haggard, and I think this is going to put a strain between him and Lucas. Hopefully not for long, because Lucas was in the right here, but I wonder how bad things are. I’m guessing Lucas will help fix it and hopefully he and Henry will be on good terms again, but I don’t know how it’s going to play out!
You know, until you mentioned it I hadn’t really thought that Fiona’s boss might be a bad man, but that makes a lot of sense in hindsight! Her reaction was too strong for it to be a simple transfer. Part of me wonders if Lucas will save the day for her, since he has San Francisco connections. Maybe he is her hero, and something will spark between them if the writers put Nathan with Elizabeth. Then they both stay in Hope Valley and are happy. As for the people saying Nathan and Fiona would be good together...no. Just...no. Even if Lucas and Elizabeth end up together, Nathan and Fiona are so incompatible. That pairing would be a real head-scratcher in my mind.
Ahhhh, Nathan and Elizabeth. *Sigh* Like I said, that end scene had me melted on the floor. IT’S ABOUT TIME!!! Lol. I was so glad he finally used his words and told her how he felt. And he apologized! I thought that scene was very well done. Though I’m left wondering what else he might have said, because it looked to me like he was about to say something more before he said “goodnight” and left.
Now, I know you might disagree with me on this, but hear me out. I don’t think Elizabeth is leading both men on. If she ends up with Lucas, then yes, I think she’s led Nathan on big-time, especially since she’s basically asking him to ask her out when she’s in his office. She could have easily told him she wanted to be friends and let him down gently, but she’s not. On the other hand, when Lucas asked her out, she straight-up told him if he saw it as a date, she wasn’t going. He accepted that, but then he proceeded to make it very date-like. She was clear with him that she saw it as a friendship situation, and she’s never fished for him to ask her out (not that she would need to - he would jump at the opportunity if she even gave him the tiniest encouragement). With Lucas, as far as Elizabeth goes, she seems to see him as a friend. I kind of scratch my head when she claims to be torn, because I don’t see the torn. I see a woman who doesn’t want to hurt either man, but I have yet to see her acting as if she has any feelings for Lucas. The one exception might be that moment in the library when she got flustered by their nearness and fumbled for the door handle. So, in short, if she picks Nathan I don’t think she’s led Lucas on, but if she picks Lucas I think she has led Nathan on. Feel free to let me know your counter-thoughts on this, cuz as we know I am sooo biased! :)
DeleteOh, I totally started singing the “shot to the heart” line when you mentioned that! Lol! Haha, and when Lee told Jesse to let it go, I started singing “Let it go, let it gooooooo!” in my head too! :D
Bill is such a sweetie. I love that he encourages Nathan, and that Nathan got it! I disagree about Nathan having a temper (which I believe we’ve talked about?), but he can definitely be moody and holy cow is he clueless when it comes to women! But I agree it makes him endearing (hehe, yes you said that out loud! :D) And hey, if you decide you like Nathan and Elizabeth together (down the line, of course, that’s probably waaaaay too much to ask right now :D), Team N will welcome you with open arms! Just sayin’! ;) But I totally understand you liking Lucas so much because you like Chris McNally. I’m the same way with liking Nathan so much because he’s played by Kevin McGarry. I love Chris too, and he’d better stay on the show if Nathan wins Elizabeth’s heart, because I don’t want to see Lucas leave! I like him a lot and want to see his story develop too.
Yeah, you’re right, Team Nathan thinks there have been tons of romantic moments between Nathan and Elizabeth, just quieter ones. Think Love Comes Softly rather than fireworks. Though to be honest though I think the fireworks are coming. Once Nathan’s shyness melts away and he can be as confident pursuing Elizabeth as he is when he’s on the job - look out!
Oh, Lucas. Good intentions, wrong actions. But I do like that even though he made a mistake, it’s going to help Elizabeth. I’m so glad she accepted the offer to send her chapters to the publisher! And I loved Lucas’ reaction….so cute! I loved seeing him so animated, haha. It was adorable.
And finally, that mysterious woman...I get the feeling that she’s connected to the baddie. She told Fiona she was going to catch the next train out and wanted something to eat first, and then she came back into the station and saw the arrest. Then all of a sudden she shows up in Hope Valley, and looks up sharply when Lucas calls Bill “judge.” She’s got to be connected to the bad guy. I don’t know, but it’ll be interesting to see if she’s in the episode next week!
Great review, as usual. Your writing is so good, and I was laughing throughout it this time. Thanks for taking the time to do these reviews. God bless!
Also, completely random, but with your opening line, the song "White Flag" by Chris Tomlin started playing in my head :)
DeleteI wanted also to say, keep working on that novel girl! I have a completed one on my mac, just waiting for me to figure out what to do with it. Good plot, just needs some editing.
