No need to worry about spoiling anything for me! I go out of my way to find spoilers, lol
I'm probably way to invested in this love triangle, so I'm always
searching for any little hint that she might pick Nathan. Because this
waiting is driving me crazy! I really want a resolution to this triangle
by the end of the season (if not before!). Thanks for your answers! I
can't wait to read your episode review tomorrow!

Is it possible to be too invested? Cause if it is I passed the mark a LONG time ago! Lol! I'm totally with you as I want this love triangle resolved by the end of the season too! No matter who Elizabeth is going to pick (even though I'll be sad id it's not Lucas...) I just want her to finally pick someone and release us from this crazy suspense! :D!
Thanks for letting me know about spoilers for you! I wouldn't want to ruin anything for you! I'm really excited to see where this goes! And thank you for your comments and support! God Bless!

First off, I agree - the Lucas/Bill storyline was hilarious!!! I want to see more of them in their companionable rivalry. Bill's comment to Archie, "If you want to eat, I recommend the cafe," and then Lucas' "Really??" was comedy gold.
As far as Archie goes, I really,
really, really hope for Nathan and Allie's sake he has reformed.
Normally I can see where the show is going from a mile away, but with
him I'm just not sure. There were too many side comments that made me
wonder if perhaps he has some kind of ulterior motive. I don't think he
stole the necklace, but I also wonder if there's something else going
on, in particular with regards to Nathan's mom. No idea what it might
be, it's just a feeling. But oh my goodness, poor Nathan! Kevin McGarry
did a stellar job in this episode. I could feel Nathan's pain. Everytime
he talked about or to his father, all I could see was little boy Nathan
getting hurt and then having to live with that his whole life. He was
almost crying several times! That end scene where he arrested his father
and told him that he wished he could believe his innocence cut right to
my heart. It also concerns me for Nathan with this whole love triangle.
He's been hurt so much, he's lost so much, and now he's in the middle
of a rivalry for the affection of a woman he likes against a man who he
considers to be like his father (as far as gambling goes). What is going
to happen to his heart if Elizabeth does choose Lucas? I don't know if
he could take it. This episode totally solidified my spot on Team Nathan
(as if it needed solidifying...lol).
I also think Jaeda Lily
Miller did an awesome job in this episode! She wore her emotions on her
sleeve, and her acting was wonderful. I really want that young girl to
have a mama, and think Elizabeth would be perfect for her. Not that I'm
biased in any way...:D
My Reply
Lol! I'm totally not bias about Lucas either.... :D Yes I agree. Nathan has been through SO much! I can just imagine his sad childhood and the pain and suffering he endured. He so much wanted to believe that his father had changed and that he was finally the man he always wanted him to be. Then he had to arrest him, and it nearly brought him to tears!
And his whole issue with Lucas finally makes sense too. I feel that now Nathan might feel the need to protect Elizabeth from being hurt like he was, since Lucas claims to be a gambler. But Lucas actually hasn't gambled very much at all this season, nor does he act quite the same. He played a friendly game with the guys, which was actually fun to see. Now he's fitting in and more down to earth which I enjoy seeing.
Anyhow, getting back to Nathan, after seeing this latest episode I'm very curious on what's going to happen next. It's a blank canvas now story wise. I'm also wondering if Jesse and Clara's wedding will be happening soon. It might be a stretch to try and make it happen at the end of the season, an this way the finale can be about the love triangle and who Elizabeth picks. (At least we can hope that's what happens!) I'm hoping that Elizabeth goes with Nathan first and then ends up with Lucas. But Nathan still has a strong case so I'll just have to wait and see.
It will be sad when she finally picks someone because, as you know, someone (or a lot of someones) are going to be very disappointed. I would hope that whichever way the writers take this that nobody is sad in the end, and it could be soften by the arrival of a girl for the rejected guy. But again I'm just left to watch this unfold and hold my breath. Lol!
Thanks for sharing! God Bless!

Well I am Team Nathan. Lol! I don't think Nathan's dad took the necklace. It seems like he wants to have a family again. Maybe I am wrong, but you are right. He cant have something with Elizabeth until he gets things right with his dad. I think this is holding him back. God bless.

Yes, it seemed like Archie very well may be innocent. I could say more now, but I don't want to spoil anything for you in case you haven't seen the episode yet. I agree that Nathan's anger at his dad is definitely causing him issues. It would be best if he took care of that first before starting anything with Elizabeth. It would only cause them tension, and possible arguments. God Bless you too!

I've been wanting to see Nathan interact with the town more too. From
conversations, it would appear people know him, Rosemary for instance,
but we've never seen them interact! Maybe he still feels like he's
living in Jack's shadow. And let's be honest, in a way he is, even in
the minds of some Hearties. Basically all of the arguments I see for
Team Lucas include some variation of "not another Mountie for
Elizabeth," as if Jack and Nathan were the same person. That's not fair
to Nathan. He is not Jack. They are two very different men, but it seems
a lot of people can't get past his red serge. Personally, I'm Team
Nathan because I like Nathan's character. I don't care that he's a
Mountie. Part of me wants him to quit the Mounties and become a
carpenter or something!
I do think if Nathan courted Elizabeth,
she would help him a lot. As you said, she could help him open up and
heal. Her love would be unlike anything he's known before. But I also
think he could help her in a lot of ways (I mention that only because I
don't want it to seem like Nathan needs Elizabeth but she doesn't he
him. I think they need each other).
I do think Lucas was being
very kind trying to help Nathan with his father. It does feel like he
knows something. That look he had on his face when Nathan left after
inviting his father to sit with them was very mysterious. I was like,
"what does he know?!" I keep wondering if Archie is sick. But like you
said, where did he get that money for the hotel, drinks for everyone,
train ride?? It'll be interesting to see where this upcoming episode
takes us.

You know I never really thought about it, but maybe Nathan does feel like he's living in Jack's shadow. After all he admitted it when he first came that he knew Jack was well liked in Hope Valley. And especially when it comes to Elizabeth, he must feel VERY apprehensive about pursuing anything with her after learning what happened to her husband. I can understand people who say they don't want Nathan because he's a Mountie. For them it's a been there done that kind of thing, and it is for me to some extent. But more so it has to do with my own personal taste, and, like you, with the personality of the guy who's team I'm on. (I know I don't have to say which guy. Lol!) I maybe could go with the idea of Elizabeth being with another Mountie, but for me personally I just don't want Nathan to be the guy for her.
However, I now think differently about Nathan. His story is SO sad, and helped me to understand him. He really needs someone to love him and show him what it's like to have someone who you can really trust. Elizabeth would do that perfectly, but....(You know! Lol!)
That is an interesting idea about Archie being sick. That would be SO dramatic, and tears would be shed! If you saw the latest episode, however, then you know what happened!
Thanks for chatting with me! Let me know what you thought about the latest episode! God Bless!

So I'm rewatching season 6, and I'm thinking Nathan's dislike of Lucas definitely stems from his issues with his father. He told Lucas he didn't seem like a good fit for Hope Valley way before the two men were rivals for Elizabeth's love. The whole love triangle has got to be aggravating for Nathan. Also, Nathan doesn't seem as closed off in season 6. It's only really been since the Ladies Choice dance. My guess is he thinks Lucas has already won and he wants to protect his heart from more hurt. Just a thought.
My Reply
I agree. Now Nathan's dislike of Lucas makes sense, and helps me understand his actions better. And I think this love triangle is aggravating for just about everyone involved! Lol! Nathan has seen Lucas and Elizabeth together multiply times so you may be right. He's probably feeling discouraged, and maybe like he's already lost. But It will be very interesting to see what happens next after watching the next episode! I wonder if one of the guys will make a move toward Elizabeth, who will make it, and what effect it will have on the whole love triangle! Thanks for chatting! God Bless!
Thank you all again for all the comments! Feel free to comment on this post or on my Twitter page! I will try and reply back in another post like this next week! Thanks for reading! God Bless!
Thanks for the replies! I'd love to know how in the world the writers will resolve this triangle without disappointing half the fan base. I would feel crushed if she picks Lucas, and I know there are Team Lucas people who would feel the same if she picks Nathan. Unless there's some major betrayal by one of the guys -- which doesn't seem likely -- some people are going to be upset. Alfonso did an interview with the Hallmarkies podcast that kind of explained why there's a love triangle, or at least why they brought in another Mountie after Jack died, but I don't want to say anything because I don't know if you would consider it to be spoiler-ish. What he said made sense, but it still leaves us with the problem of Hearties being disappointed with the outcome. To be honest, I usual avoid love triangles. That's why I stopped watching When Hope Calls several episodes in -- couldn't handle another dang triangle. I might consider rewatching if they resolve that in the next season (assuming there is a second season). I just want resolution to this part of the story, but I'm sure they're going to drag it out to the season finale, if not longer 😬 While the triangle has given us some funny moments, this just isn't good for my heart, lol!
ReplyDeleteIf you had to guess at where the show would take the triangle, what would you say as of today?
