Answering Your Comments #5
Hey everybody! (Why does it feel like I may start every comment post like this?) I'm back and answering more of your comments! Let's get right to them!

Oh good, you've seen the first episode! :) I was going to say with the pic of Elizabeth hiding behind the curtain with Lucas there that I thought it had to do with him reading her story. Which it was! I will say I enjoyed Lucas' growth in this episode, and it's heartwarming seeing him make himself at home in Hope Valley. I'm growing to like him a lot. He's a good man, but...(I'm sure you can finish that sentence, lol). I was bummed that Nathan wasn't in this episode much, though that bridge scene was adorable! Annnnd that's all I'm going to say for now since anything else would spoil for next week. Can't wait to read your thoughts on the episode...even if it is Lucas-focused...:D

Lol! Yep, I think I can finish that sentence. ;) It was great to see Lucas so down to earth, and fitting in with everyone. He's becoming one of the guys. :) True we didn't get a lot of Nathan in this episode, but the scenes we did get seemed to carry greater meaning then just a friendly scene. Something is stirring... But as you know well by now, I'm still hoping for Lucas. I think it really could go either way. Man, I just wish I had all the episodes now so I could binge watch them, but then I'd be sad because it would be over so fast! :D Thanks for putting up with my over-load of Lucas! Lol! God Bless!

This love triangle is driving me crazy too. It's my least favorite plot
point and usually the writers don't know when to quit and end up milking
it longer than necessary.
I just don't like her with Nathan. I fast-forwarded through all their scenes in the premiere because I honestly don't care what their interactions are like. I know that the writers seem to be skewing it in his favor right now, but since it's only the first episode, I'm okay with it since a lot can change. My gut tells me that in the end it'll be Lucas.
I think the writers strengthening the fact that Elizabeth and Lucas love literature and having her work on this novel is a big deal. Sharing her writing is extremely personal to Elizabeth -- we know that the last person she shared it with was Jack. I love that Lucas has inspired her to start writing again and that he's the catalyst for her writing this novel. Knowing Lucas, I have a feeling he'll make her dream come true and get her novel published. Throughout that writing process, I too, am hoping for scenes like the ones you mentioned! Chris's comments certainly seem to be hinting that we're trending in that direction. Are you familiar with the show 'One Tree Hill'? This novel story arc reminds me a lot of the love triangle on that show (and guess what, the one who inspired the main character is the one he chose in the end!)
Thanks for responding - sorry this ended up being so long :)

Got ya! Thanks for clarifying your name! We've got quite the Team Lucas squad going on Twitter, don't we? But, oh my goodness this love triangle is driving me nuts! But lately I've been feeling more and more hopeful/confident that Elizabeth will actually pick Lucas. It's interesting what you said about the novel arc in One Tree Hill. I haven't seen it, but after seeing a comment about it on Facebook I looked it up. It's absolutely hilarious that the two main character's name's are Lucas and Nathan! I mean seriously? :D
Anyhow, that's interesting to know he went with the one who inspired the novel. Foreshadowing maybe? I definitely feel like Lucas may make her dream come true with the help of his mother. And it's totally a point for Lucas that Elizabeth shared her writing with him! (Score!) Lol! Thanks for chatting! God Bless!

No kidding, there was LOTS of Lucas in this episode! I was actually a
bit surprised, and since I love Nathan a little bummed too. Though the
moments Nathan had with Elizabeth were stellar. It looks like he's
finally, FINALLY going to start opening up. I like that he was her
inspiration for the novel; Lucas encouraged her to write, Nathan helped
her to see what to write about. So interesting to see how this plays out
moving forward. It's funny watching how the two men act. Nathan
flat-out makes comments that show he doesn't like Lucas, and Lucas does
things like interrupt a conversation or make a comment about Nathan that
attempts to put him in a bad light to Elizabeth (Christmas episode,
when Lucas says Nathan doesn't like crowds and Nathan gives him a look
that could kill). Things got awkward with the three of them at the
beginning of the episode! I think Nathan's going to start opening up
more. I believe he's hurting, and I think you could be on to something
with it having to do with his sister dying and his father being in jail.
If you lose people closest to you, how do you open yourself up again
and risk getting hurt once more? I still maintain that he's going to
just let it all out at some point, surprising both himself and
Elizabeth. That's part of the reason I'm rooting for him so hard -- it
just seems like he's been so hurt and has so much love to offer even if
he doesn't realize it. He's the underdog, he's awkward, he doesn't know
what to say, and I'm a sucker for those kinds of men. I don't care for
the smooth, polished types, which is part of the reason I don't want
Lucas with Elizabeth. He's a good man, just not for her. In the words of
Olives from Signed, Sealed, Delivered, there's a vast difference
between choosing a good man and choosing the right man. Both Nathan and
Lucas are good, but who is right? (I think you know my answer to
that...). Actually, I agree with you that the show seems to be hinting
that Nathan is the guy. Sometimes I think that's just because I'm
biased, but Hallmark does have a pattern. That's why I like it so much.
You always know who the girl is going to pick, without fail. The only
show that had a triangle similar to WCTH is Murder She Baked, and even
then you knew who she was going to pick in the end, though they did
their level best to make it an even playing field.
Side note: I've seen people commenting on social media that Nathan and Elizabeth have music playing during their interactions that is similar to the music played during Jack and Elizabeth's moments. I hadn't noticed that. Have you?
Completely changing topics, I'm guessing that Abigail is going to at least be mentioned this season. How could Clara plan a wedding without showing some kind of sadness that her mother-in-law won't be there? Abigail was like a mother to her, and that HAS to be addressed. It would be so strange if it wasn't. What I would like to see, though I doubt it will happen, is Cody and Becky come to the wedding. For whatever reason Abigail couldn't make it, but she sends her kids to witness Clara's wedding. That's my hope.
And finally (sorry, I know this is ridiculously long) I LOVE Henry and how he has changed! His relationship with Elizabeth is sweet, and I absolutely love how the town protected him! I thought it was pretty cool that Fiona got a storyline as well with the reporter. But yeah, the Henry storyline is easily one of my favorites. I love when they show redemption stories.

If you haven't watched Episode Two: Heart of a Father, please don't read this reply as it contains SPOILERS! (But I feel like you already have so I think it's safe for me to do this. I hope it is anyway!)
Don't worry about the long comment! I could talk about this show FOREVER! (And I do. Lol!) Oh, my goodness we FINALLY got the truth from Nathan! Aaannnd...okay maybe I sympathize with him. Yes, this totally helped put him in a new light! Now I can be more understanding of his attitude, and feel more for him. I mean, he was nearly crying! (Still Team Lucas though, Lol!) I did wonder if the music sounded different once for Elizabeth and Nathan. I think the overall mood feels different for them at times. It's probably on purpose.
And those boys definitely have their ways of combating the jealousy! I hope to see some fun battling between them, like with Billy and Jack!
And it really did turn out that Nathan's attitude is because of his father. That one story about his father selling his mother's brooch said SO MUCH! It's so sad and dramatic! No matter what happens, I just hope two things. That Elizabeth finally picks one of them by the end of the season, and that I'm not disappointed again like with Jack.
About Abigail, I agree that it would be really weird if nobody mentioned her. I would understand why they wouldn't, but Abigail played such a major role in Clara's life. She would definitely be sad that her mother-in-law couldn't make it to her wedding. Especially since her first wedding was in secret and Abigail wasn't at that one.
And Henry's story arc has really been one of the biggest through out this whole show! He's gone from power, to humility, to running a successful business that offers jobs to the good people of Hope Valley. He's had quite the life! I really hope he gets a love interest! Someone sweet, and caring. Someone who will stick with him to the end!
I hope I didn't spoil anything for you. You have been considerate about potential spoilers with me, and I don't want to spoil anything for you. If you'd prefer I wait until I'm sure you've seen the episode just let me know in another comment so I can comply! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait till the next episode! God Bless!

Lauralyn, great thoughts!
And as for the blog, you were right.

• LOTS OF LUCAS - Giving a requested critique of a book that Elizabeth wasn't quite ready to hear,
A new chef - what yummy food will be coming off the grill? How will this affect the Café ?
and
• Faith & Carson - He said "I love you" .. big thing to say back in the 1910s tho'

• Henry has come a long way in 6 years +

That reporter .. "is there such a thing as being able to reach through
my TV & strangle somebody in the past?" (sign of a good actor is
when you realllly, reallllly can't stand them on the show!)
Keep up the good work blogging!

Yes, for LOTS OF LUCAS! Lol! Since I've just seen the next episode it makes it harder to respond, but you make some good points. Where was that Mountie during the movie? Lol! And that declaration of love was a BIG moment! Especially for Carson since this is the first women he's loved since his wife passed.
And sadly no, you can't reach through your TV to the past. If we could, I would have already used that power on Season 2. Lol! I hope you have an amazing time in Africa! Thanks for all the love and encouragement! God Bless!

Gosh, I hope she stays! Carson does NOT need a broken heart!
Especially since Faith is the first woman he's loved since his wife
died. I really hope it was just a maternity leave thing and that she'll
be back. Faith is such a sweet, kind hearted character! And we've
already lost Jack and Abigail and Cody and Frank; it would be hard
losing another cast member.
My Reply
I really am not sure what is going to happen. Could go either way in my opinion. But your so right about Carson. This is the first woman he's ever loved since his wife died. Why should he have to lose her too? I have new thoughts concerning this, and again I feel like you've seen the episode by now so I could probably say more, but I'll leave my comments at this for now. Thanks for sharing with me! God Bless!

I hope Faith doesn't leave. I would like to see Faith and Carson get married one
season. I don't understand why she would leave. All the Hearties love her
on the show. I miss Cody. I wish they would bring him back. It wasn't his
fault that Lori didn't think her kids were smart enough to get into collage on their own.
My Reply
Yeah, I'm not sure what's going to happen. Who knows? Maybe she's not leaving at all. Or maybe it's only temporary since she had her baby. Hopefully we'll find out more with this next episode. Also it is sad that Cody lost his job on WCTH. Maybe he'll be able to come back someday, as I'm sure the writers could come up with some reason for him to visit. Whether he comes on his own, with his sister, or even with his Aunt. Thanks for sharing! God Bless!
Thanks again for the love and support, and for your time in writing all these! Also thanks for reading! Feel free to comment below or on my Twitter page if you'd like! (I usually try and answer the blog comments the following week.) God Bless!

No need to worry about spoiling anything for me! I go out of my way to find spoilers, lol 😁 I'm probably way to invested in this love triangle, so I'm always searching for any little hint that she might pick Nathan. Because this waiting is driving me crazy! I really want a resolution to this triangle by the end of the season (if not before!). Thanks for your answers! I can't wait to read your episode review tomorrow!
